Aims
SWCF is the national organisation for Christians who work in a wide variety of social work, social care, social action and student settings. Formed in 1964, SWCF provides professional and spiritual support to its members, through national and local events.
It is interdenominational and affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance and organisations with similar aims. SWCF seeks to develop Biblical thinking, challenge secular assumptions, and promote Christian perspectives in policy-making and practice.
SWCF is not a grant making charity and does not employ staff.
Our Aims
- To encourage and strengthen Christians working in social work and social care settings to integrate their personal faith with their professional practice
- To share in the mission of the wider church as a witness to Jesus Christ
- To encourage Biblical reflection on social issues, social work theory and practice
- To encourage and provide mentoring support to Christians undergoing training in social work, social care and social welfare
- To attract membership participation through events, publications, prayer and fellowship
